New Jersey Immigration Lawyer Discusses How an Arrest Can Prevent Citizenship
As an experienced New Jersey Immigration Lawyer I was recently asked if a prior arrest could prevent citizenship. In general, if you have a traffic violation including speeding, a minor violation, a misdemeanor or something fairly insignificant, it will also not negatively affect your citizenship application. I will advise clients as a New Jersey Immigration Lawyer that if you were arrested for something like sexual assault or drugs, this could have a negative impact. It is very important that you obtain all documentation for any arrests that you have had and bring them with you to the consultation with one of our attorneys.
