New Jersey Immigration Lawyer Discusses What You Need to File for Citizenship
As an experienced New Jersey Immigration Lawyer I often have clients come to me and enquire how they can obtain citizenship. The first thing that I tell them is that they must already have a Green Card for at least 3 years. An exception to this rule would be if you married a U.S. Citizen for love. Another requirement I advise my clients of as a New Jersey Immigration Lawyer is that you must have lived within the United States for more than half the time. The most important requirement to become a U.S. Citizen is that you are a law abiding citizen and have had no issues with the law like misdemeanors or felonies.
